check to see if the pads are dragging. It's been known to happen & continue to cause problems after the rotors have been machined

the thing thats even funnier is that ford dont make there brake pads, they are made by one of the aftermarket companies.. its either dba, bendix or ferodo..
the thing that ford do is they use h/d pads not the cheap std replacememt ones..

well, thats your car!!, very different cars, all i no is that genuine BA pads are alot better than the 40$ ones i had on previously. smooth n strong.. :? :?

They may be different cars, but you do realise you can buy aftermarket pads for $180 and they will be better than genuine ones right? Also, you can't compare $40 aftermarket cheapis with $180 genuine. It'll be more of a plausible comparison if you had $180 aftermarket pads compared with $180 genuine.

If you get them machined, get new pads with it.

I run DBA slotted rotors in my EL with Bendix Ultimate pads. They brake well, haven't had any warping issues on my last set and current set (haven't done many k's on the current set though). Front disc and pads set me back $300 or something. Can't remember. This is just for parts...no labour.

It is pretty cheap but I am pretty sure there is cheaper out there somewhere. Get all my brake stuff from Hightek Brakes in Moorabbin. They were a site sponsor on FM once.

If you haven't already read this gearbox-suspension-brake-driveline-f4/burnt-rotors-so-which-pads-now-t97985-60.html
Since then I haven't had any trouble, the Bendix heavy duty seem to work well and don't fade, very dusty though. IIRC they were around the $100 mark and new DBA rotors are usually around $110-$120 each.

If your rotors are genuine, I'd be replacing them! Something about Ford rotors that cause them to warp. Maybe made in china?? If they are DBA or RDAs and they are still thick enough to machine then get them machined. I get mine done for $10 each (cash) though last time his machine was broken and I got them done at ABS, they too came to a cash price :) I think it was $20each
