hey, i have recently purchased a 95 fairmont .I have had it checked out by RACV and by a mechanic. The worst problem which has been found on it is that the main rear engine seal needs to be replace which i have been quoted $210. The car runs a bit rough when it idles in drive which is just tuning??? The other problem which im not too sure about is that when i start the car it blows a small amount of oil out of the exhaust. could this be rings?? or valve seals?? if so what does this cost to repair?? At this point it would apear that i have purchased a lemon. But for $3000 i couldnt go wrong. I dont mind spending a few thousand to get it spot on. apart from these probs it is immaculate for its age.

Hay sam i bought a 94 Fairmont for $3000 also all that was wrong with my car was the front bar had a crack in it the car needed a good service an now needs an engine mount but apart from that it hasnt let me down. It sounds like it could b seals but not sure how much to fix.
