I just drove down to my local ford dealer looking for a replacement power steering rack for my falcon. The best they can do is 395 second hand, plus fitting. SO im looking at about $520 for rack, fitting, and wheel alignment, all for a leak :( Does anyone know of any places around perth that can give me a better deal? I cant let it keep leaking, as my brothers commodore has now gained itself a place in the shed due to mine leaving a drip the size of a dinner plate in a few hours. Im currently on the lawn, and will probably be kicked off that because its dieing from the oil as well

So, any recommendations in Perth?

take it to a workshop and get them to either fit a reco one or put a seal kit through it

A lot cheaper from a wrecker and install it yourself!! Fun and easy enough to do provided you have a few tools.. IIRC it is a lot cheaper from wreckers.

Theres not a real lot of difference between a reco and putting a seal kit through it. Brand new is only another 60 dollars more but.

And drone, if i got one from the wreckers, theres nothing saying itt wouldnt do the same thing. Unless I went for one out of an EL or something.

I went to Repco, bought a c/o rack for about $400. Replaced it myself, took about an hour. It's really easy. Plus wheel alignment, $500 including oil.
