Now that I have your attention, hopefully one of you guys with vastly more mechanical knowledge than I can help me out.

When I apply the brakes in my EL, I get a nasty vibration through the front end of the car. What I would like to know is do you think it's the brake disc and it needs to be machined or.. is it a suspension problem.

So braking from 100kph would send your steering wheel nuts?

Do youself a favour and get some good rotors, DBA's and some new pads.

You shold be able to get pads, rotors, bearings for around $250.

Being a 10yo car, I'd do brake fluids and remove clean all parts of the brakes and rubber grease where applicable.

Brake shudders are usually hot spots/warped rotors.
Vibration while coasting is usually balance/tyres/rims.

others consist of suspension and tailshaft and pinion angles:/

I used to have the same problem on my EF at 100km/hr...turned out to be the wheels in need of a balance

If it is at all speeds, more than likely brake rotor
warpage

Thanks guys,
It only happens during braking, I thought it would be rotors, but I wanted to know what to get checked before someone tried to rip me off.

EF & EL rotors warp easily when the wheel nuts are over tensioned. This being the case most of the time, just replace the rotors.( get new hub seals and repack wheelbearings if in good condition.)
