I basically know what is on offer at the performance end of the spectrum, but what is available in shockers and springs for pure comfort. Something that really soaks up the bumps, can take a real hammering, and doesn't intrude into the cabin and vibrate the fillings out of your teeth.
It's getting around that time where some things need replacing, but I might lower it about an inch or 2, lower the a** end so the whole car sits evenly, and throw some springs and shocks in there that are made for real comfort, if it's actually possible that is. Any advice would be very appreciated... |

maby some air-ride suspension from an NC Fairlane and some low king springs might suit what your arfter.

I didn't think you could use king springs with the fairlane air ride suspension, could be wrong though!

Its not air suspension, rather air shocks which raise the rear of the car to keep it level if its loaded up with a bit of weight. Stops the rear dragging on the ground.

Air shocks not worth it. Had them on my fairlane, and all i can say is there are better and cheaper ways to go. Air shocks will probably leak over time. Ford told me they are probably the worst thing ever created for the fairlane, as they need to use springs with less load rating to be able to accomodate for the shock.
Have a look at pedders damping system (look on website) Anyway that my 2 cents worth. Have a good one !!

Maybe some standard height Monroe Sensatracs and King Spring standard height springs? Might be comfort level at an acceptable price. Would be very comfortable I'd think on straight lines and that. But being standard height not as comfortable in the corners as say Tickford height set up (which would probably not be as comfortable in straight line...)... Also do you tow with the vehicle at all or carry any excessive weights, etc.?

My choice would be Kings Lows and KONI Reds! If you are running standard suspension, this combo will transform your car. The Koni Reds are adjustable out of the car. A very cost effective solution.
If you want a hard ride get Monroe Wiley GTs. If you want to be jiggled up and down get Monroe Wiley Sensatracs - the worst I have ever owned. Go and see Peter Wilkinson at Wilkinson's Suspensions in Bayswater. |
