IM JUST COPING AND PASTING FROM ANOTHER FORUM PPL

Found this in my travels to look for Big Brakes Suitable for EA EB EB EF & EL

eBay seller MR_SPARES / Ultra Performance Components PTY LTD who is well known for his Brake Upgrade Kits for Holden has just developed & released e-series Big Brake Kits BUT the bad news is that they will be distributed by a national distributor who will be selling the basic kits for $1,795.

The National Distributor will be selling them in their shops in 2 weeks so from then on he can not undersell them BUT until then you can get the Upgraded Kit for $1,495

This is a bolt on kit, no mods required except 17" rims

So what they have told me that you get is
Mustang 330mm Rotors (+20 offest)
(Cross Drilled & Slotted or Cross Drilled)
Custom Hubs
Custom Modified Uprights with all new bushes
Cusom Brackets
VE Calipers
(Choice of Colour or Finish, Red, Blue, Black, Alloy, Polished)
Braided Brake Lines

When the national distributor sells them you won't get the braided brake lines or choice of Colour/Finish on ALLOY and only slotted rotors.

HERE'S THE LINK PPL

You will find all pictures in that thread

Also ppl,

If you read carfully the offset they have choosen is crap as there is still not much wheels available for the offset they have choosen. So what im trying to do is get everyone interested in these brakes to post a comment to have an AU BA offset as i done a search and just in 19inch from 1 wheel shop there is 52 wheels to choose from and 20inch there is 71 wheels to choose from.

So no more 3 crappy wheels to choose from when you walk into a wheel shop.

So please ppl post up feedback for AU onwards offset ASAP so i'll get intouch with them on monday arvo.

Cheers

AU offset is illegal on earlier cars, and wont comply with ADR's mate, so its a no go.

Are you 110% about that?

Same model commadores have that offset, so would it be illegal?

Would need to know how this kit would effect the offsets...track distance etc .. as it may well comply with the ADR's obviously you would need an engineers cert / compliance plate/cert.

The mob supplying these though wouldnt have been able to sell these without them having engineering approval prior ... Joe from Crescent Motorsport in Liverpool (AU2XR8) went through this process to have a very similar kit created -never heard how his went - Brett (TerroistGhia) is running one of Joe's kits...

Price wise they are round the same price...and are far cheaper than the AP Racing kit from Cebco Brakes (Cebcos are double the price).

Yeh which is all good and well but I wouldnt assume anything...and because cars didnt roll off the factory floor with this setup you still need to pay a reasonible amount of $$ on top to have it certified again on your own vehicle...telling a cop that just pulled u over its ok i was told these are adr approved will see you going to the rego office with a defect notice.

You cannot increase a vehicles track, which also includes hub face to hub face.
I have tried to get it past QLD transport, and have been told no, no chance.

In QLD the track CANNOT be lessened at all from the manufacturers specs.

However, the track CAN be widened by no more than 26mm from the maximum track specified for that particular model vehicle.

The track is measured from the centre of the tyre to the centre of the opposite side tyre at ground level. Front a rear track measurments vary...

Yep sure is....in ACT/WA its the total track width measure can also NOT be lessended but can be increased upto 25mm of factory oem specifications however the offset percentages also still need to comply as they can only be changed 1.5% pos/neg i cant recall that exact one but yeh...

QLD may be a lil harsher on that....which would suck

Im pretty sure that brake upgrades require an engineer certificate, so add on a few hundred $$$ to the total price....

EDIT: oops already mentioned

I think you will find QLD transport have very different opinions on "WHEEL TRACK" and "VEHICLE TRACK"
When I approached them regarding using AU offset on an EL, using AU length diff and custom engineered front floating rotors, I was told no.
Flange to flange distance (vehicle track) cannot be altered, but yes I agree that wheel track can be.

347 stroker

That's exactly what i wanted to do, put a AU diff in and get my brakes set out an extra 30mm so it will have the same track all round.

I think i better talk to a engineer in sydney and see what they have to say.
