I've put a new neutral switch and replaced the bushes in the Auto gear shift column. but for some reason i can't get it to start without pushing the gear shift forward...

does anyone know what the problem is... i've tried adjusting it, cant get it to sit right.. could it be something in the gearbox itself? or am i just not adjusting it right?

have you done the drill bit alignment procedure for the shift bar which connects to the gearbox? If you dont know what I mean then get a gregories manual and it explains it.

i know what you are saying... you put the drill bit into the hole underneath on the gearbox..

they do line up... but i still have to push the lever forward to get it to start

pull the inhibitor switch off and clean the metal where it goes onto the selector shaft with a wire brush and try it again

just align it bit by bit. a hoist helps though.
