i replaced the auto tranny in my ed(it was shifting so bad that it would break traction) with a low k auto out of an ef,as well as the stall converter. now the auto shifts great but, when it's cold the engine will occasionally let the engine rev to redline like it were in neutral. once the temp comes up it's fine... please help.

get it serviced, sounds like the bands are out of adjustment.

we had the same thing with data_mines car after he blew the tail shaft and replaced the transmission, he had no reverse, the bands were burnt out.

Speaking of autos, finally got mine serviced today. Was nothing wrong with it, was still pretty damn smooth. But now it's back to smooooooooth.
