G'day all,
I need to replace my hankook. There was very little room underneath anywhere but just enough.
Yesterday I dropped my ef sedan at a tiyre place that has always given me great service and they are always flat out but.....

Went back there yesterday afternoon and saw that the kuhmos they used are slighly more square than hankook so the front wheels now touch the struts. I left the car there after talking to them after confirming that they could get a set of hankook for me the next day- today and I could pick up the car.

Like I said before these people are known for looking after its customers.

I got a call about 6ish and they said that they should get the kuhmos to fit by adjusting the ball joints or bending something (?). I asked if that would be safe- they assured me it would be......
Would appreciate some advise/opinions.

thank you in advance
newby

Had a similar problem When I fitted 245 40 R18 Federals, but they were hitting the upper ball joint grease nipples, just removed the grease nipples and replaced with blanks. If yours are hitting they might be hitting the underside of the upper ball joint.

Thanks for that,

I don't know what I was thinking to consider the option of 'bending something back' Just miss my 'baby' too much
Anyway hopefully its only a ball joint adjustment.....

if its hitting anything it'll be the spindle or ball joint.
as mentioned, some ball joins have the grease nipple which would deffiantely cause issues.

can't bend the spindle :P
so i'd say its ball joint.

Well, I picked it up...
Drove to a mates 5-10 mins. Can hear a rubbing noise. Its happening at over the smallest bumps at 40ks and stopping at the lights.
Prayed it was something in the boot against the tank- checked, its empty.
F#ck its a back wheel against the panel and it didn't do that before. Took it straight back.
WTF Feeling a bit cranky but remained polite.
Its not too loud. I need the car so they let me take it. Dropping it off tomorrow and I politely made it clear I am not cracking it yet but.......
JUST started to have problems with the front not far from home too........

Yesterday afternoon this tyre place tells me that the hankook distributor doesn't have any of the tyres for my wheel.

First thing this morning I call LD Wholesale tyres- hankook distributor and they do have stock. The shop in question also has an account with them. LD also provide a same day delivery service if they receive the order before 10.

Called the tyre shop, made sure they ordered the tryes.
Tomorrow everything will be fixed.
Who the f#ck can you trust?

Whats the width and profile of the tyre?

what size, offset and width is the rim?

If your having probs then you prolly got the wrong size rim or tyre causing the problems

They are a VERY tight fit but had them for 3yrs+ before one failed- my fault as I don't check the pressure and its gone flat
225/35ZR20= 8.5 x 20" BA off set
Tyres are like clothes, a chinese Large can be a smaller make then a Large made in Australia. Kuhmos have a squarer shoulder and Hankook are roundered- just enough room.

I have learnt that they aren't worth this hassle, next rim will be smaller  .
