Ouch, check out the price jump from R19 tyres to R20s! Anyway, as for the tyres i personally can't comment on WANLIs, the tread pattern looks pretty decent, I have maxxis tyres on mine, they seem ok, hard to compare because i haven't had any other tyres except the ones that came on the car when i got it (cheap pieces of s**t). My mate uses Nankang tyres on his car because apprantly they run the same tread pattern as Yokohamas. Someone on here did say that they wouldn't run them again though, but that's just an their opinion as well. Sorry i can't help more

I can recommend Nankang's.
The tread pattern on those wanli's looks very familiar???

When I got my car it had Wanlis on it and they were very very s**t. They squealed heaps around corners and had bugger all grip. They also had a heap of road noise. I changed them over for a set of Yokahama C-drives and they are a million times better.

I have wanlis, and dont have any complaints about them. Though in the wet with mud all over the tyres they have next to zero grip, as i'm sure alot of tyres would be the same, but they do squeal quite loud, but heck that isnt a bad thing.

The 19's in the Wanli's i've found have great grip in the dry, pretty much as good as a $500 Falken did. In the wet though i've found they're pretty average, but it is hard getting my car off the line in the wet.
Handle well, anmd wear very well. Not bad at all for the money. |

grab a set of federals or kuhmos, the Wanlis are a yokie copy but with a crap trad wear.. if you can fork a few more $$ out for a silica base tyre compound. Kuhmos are good for the $$ as well. Don't be tight when it comes to tyres. you get what you pay for and I want to know its going to pull round the next corner.

Well i for one haven't had s**t tread wear out of my Wanli's.
They've done at least 30,000kms, with some pretty hard driving included, a few burnouts, a few decent standstills, and they've still got a fair bit left in them. It might be that my car is lowered, and with bigger wheels, but the tyres have never let slip in the dry once, without me harshly provoking them. Each to their own though. |

Yeah same as mine, minus all the burnouts, i have cornered some tight corners faster then id dare with the stockies. And they didnt even sound like they were about to break traction.

Also, if i had cash to spend, i would definately buy a set of Yokie's, as i reckon they are one of the best tyres around. A copy of their tread pattern can't be all that bad. I also personally don't really think the Falkens on the front of mine are any better for the extra moolah i spent on them.
Plus the Wanli's stop well in any conditions, so thats all that matters to me. I'll break traction with any tyre, no matter how expensive, so i personally don't see the point in all the extra outlay. |
