Just a thought, but I'd be making sure you get the heavy duty superlows as the fairlane would probably be one of the heaviest.

All I know is when I was looking up the suspension for Tim (rapier) there were 'King Spring Superlows' and 'King Spring Superlows (Heavy Duty)' - different part numbers too. Not sure if there is a heavy duty option with lows.

OK, neo_nick has had superlows all round for a while now, with kyb shocks, 2 comments come to mind:
1 - ****ing hard, not good for every day (shocks r the let down there, not the springs) 2 - the handling is crazy; the thing stick to the road like no one's business! In my old fairlane i had sl's with monroe shocks, ride was firm, not rough rough but certainly could become bouncy after some unsetlling road.. Handling was good, but felt the shocks were again the weakest part. This is why with the fbt, ive invested in some superlow whiteline springs and bilstein suited shicks, meant to be the best shocks i can get for my car without braking 1k per pair (crazy for my budget).. My springs still havnt arrived so they arent in yet and i cant comment as wel.. I wouldnt bother with worrying about heay duty myself, not sure how much the gas tank weighs when filled tho? The speed humps can certainly be a prob with the fairlanes n superlows; best thing to do is see if you can somehow have the zorst raised a bit - i did this in my sportsman n it was ok, still got the odd hump tho. We have had the whole argument of fairlane guys saying they scrape everything with sl's n the guys with the SWB like monts n gli's saying they dont have hassles.. Seems the LWB makes things a bit more tricky as the car has a point where none of the wheels ar going up or down the bump unlike with a SWB where the back wheels are coming up as the front ones come down.. Hope that gives you something to think about, any Q's ask ahead.

The FBT sits like same height as stock, maybe 1cm lower at back n 1-2cm at front in extreme cases i guess, but not much. Nicko is using the king superlows with kyb shocks, seen it today, looks lower n lower everytime i see it.

Lowering update.
I decided to go for some lovells progressive rate springs and KYB excel g shocks. Because of the extra weight in the rear being a fairlane and also having a lpg tank and stereo equipment i decided on lovell Lows matched with lovells super lows for the front. Well i fitted them today and it sits even with 1/2 tank of lpg and 1/2 tank of petrol. i am over the moon with it. it has changed the look of the car completely, i reckon it looks well tough. the ride is suprisingly good for its height, the KYB shocks are a top choice. I took some pictures of before after and during the job, will post them soon. Big thanks to Stirling STENGAH 'KTULU' for giving me a hand. Yours next dude. And to Paul at Better Brakes Bayswater for his patience with spring selections.

let me know what you think. I personally love it, PERFECT height all round. If i didnt already have my springs in I think id go some lovells after seeing how she sits there. Is it a firm ride now?

cheers. The ride is firm but not to firm. it feels like it has stiffened up the suspension without making it billy cart along the road like lowered comonhoars. i will take it for a longer run today and see how she goes.

Wow that looks a lot hotter than I thought. Next time round (when shocks die) I'll do the same.
