Okay guys, big trouble here.

Just drove from one side of Bris to the other with basically no brakes, was not fun at all.

The thing goes to the floor in different stages. Does that thing where the pedal moves down automatically, like when you stop at lights, but instead of once it keeps doing it over and over till your foot is to the floor.

There is a sound like someone is pissing behind the firewall in the engine at the front left of the car. Right behind the front passenger's footwell.

What's up guys?

Yes I did a search, blah blah blah.

look for leaks!

If a nipple has come loose your foot will travel.

Don't stuff around remove all wheels and Go over the whole damn lot until you FIND it.

Air leak? Brake booster will be shot, but this should in return make your seat brake in order to stop the car.

Also One pipe to look out for is on the PASSENGER side wheel arch, Towards the front of the suspension on the chassis, All 3 of these goe to the ABS module and One is slightly proud, I have seen these wear from rubbing on the tyre. If you spring a leak.. bingo.

You tighten them up to seal them.
If ones loose you'll spot it.

Have a good look at the Calipers, Pistons, Pads, leaking master cylinder, etc.

If theres a problem, don't give up, find it.

You may have even worn the the pads too far, used all the fluid up and just pushing air, but not likely.

check the reservoir first, then everything else!

Yeah checked the reservoir and the master cylinder when I pulled over on the way home. Was fluid and no leaks.

Have to pull off that front left wheel tomorrow.

Could be the booster has a leak or the hose has come off on the manifold, this would result in the hissing sound and poor brakes but not the pedal to the floor.

the seals in the master cyl could be shot or if you hear a SHHHHHH when you put your foot down on the break peddle its the booster.

on the weekend going and from the coast from a car show i had almost no breaks and it went to the floor in stages, turned out it just needed bleeding and was done at a members home up the road from the car show and now ok.

if there is no fluid leak it can only be booster or master cylinder. you might have fluid bypassing the seals like someone had mentioned before. if it is a booster you would expreience a hard pedal. but a vacuum leak can feel the same. that could be the pissing noise. take to mechanic and get lines tested but it would be either master cylinder or vacuum leak. this isnt something you want to put off. :)

HISSING WILL BE CAUSED BY BRAKE BOOSTER ITS KNACKERED BUT THAT SHOULDNT MAKE THE PEDAL DROP IF A HOSE HAD COME LOOSE IT WOULD HISS ALL THE TIME I WOULD REPLACE BOOSTER AND MASTER CYLINDER THINK YOU WILL FIND BRAKE FLUID LEAKING FROM THE BACK WHEN YOU SPLIT THEM
