Recently had auto rebuilt with 2000rpm stally and also fitted a L.S.D.
The XR6 engine has minor mods: hi-flow intake, extractors & 2.5inch mandrel bent sports exhaust. There should be sufficient power to spin the back wheels but doesn't. Tyres are near new but that shouldn't matter. |

If this makes you feel any better. I had a Mark 1 BA Fairmont that I could pull fairly good skids in, light them up on the spot and so on. Now after trading up to a BA Mark 2 Fairmont, I cant really spin them at all. There is no chance to get them spinning on the spot, and you really have to hock it in the corners to get it going.

If your tyres are 15"'s wide and some $800.00 Mickey Thomson or what ever his name is super grippy things then they might not spin, so tyres definateyl do matter!
But sounds like the problem is between the seat and the steering wheel. |

two letters.... N and D (in that order too )
or just do a half circle with it mashed to get it on power then dive on the brakes.. auto falcons with their lovely long a*** first and tall diff can sometimes have problems.. or just get line lockers

he's just had a tranny rebuild, do you really reckon he wants another one? seriously the amount of morons that keep posting that people should do neutral dumps without informing them of the dangers is getting ridiculous on this site! everytime some newbie asks about burnouts some idiot tells them to do a neutral dump but doesn't tell them the likely consequences! if your going to recomend things like that at least tell him his tranny and diff are likely to get screwed, i mean if he doesn't know how to do a burnout then it's unlikely that he would realise or know that! |

really whats the point in doing burnouts anyway? normally we put bigger tyres on and lower them to avoid this sorta stuff.
standard cars are just not designed to do em, if u trick em up a bit and strengthen everything then go for it, but otherwise ...so what... a manual hyundai excel can spin the wheels better than my falcon...but u think i care?

I didn’t think the BTR auto's would engage above a certain RPM. Saying that I had an EX taxi that had done 600,000 on its gear box, I tried it once and it engaged at about 4000rpm, I just figured because it was so old that something had failed to allow it to engage.. It pulled a mean skid, but I would never do it again. The chances of breaking something is just too high.

it definately has something to do with the brakes, because when i used to have the au i could pull off big line lock skids, then a few months later ater changing brake pads n so on, it just didnt want to, it just sat n stalled up and i have to clamp the brake lines, thats saying something, had nothing to do with who was driving cos it was me both times, and for all these people saying a stock standard ba can do a stand still, i dont know what the go is, maybe you can, but my mk11 futura certainly cant, i dont know if u's lie about it, but i have no shame in saying it wont do it, i dont know, maybe yous dont have an lsd, the car hasnt got traction controll, all it does is squat in the rear end, i have 18's on it. but whoever says a stock ba 6 can smoke 2 wheels up is most definately tugging themselves and cant tell the truth! and no, 205's, no bald tyres, no slippery surfaces, no mods, no brake clamps, no steering at full lock, no s**t

I'm with you CAMERONCOULSTON, There is no way I can get my Mk11 Fairmont to light them up on the spot. In My MK1 I could with out to much trouble. Both had similar tires on them. All I can think of is my MK11 has better rear brakes.

No s**t, I've done it myself, and seen it done by someone else, in an auto BA XT, 17" Sp3000s.
You jump up and down on the brake a bit to get them spinning, then you just have to worry about getting them to spin past 2500. Once they do, it just lights up. Dump the brake, give her a bit of steering, and fishy away, leaving 2 black lines. But I can understand if you don't believe me, this is the internet
