Hey all,
I have a ef futura sedan lowered on superlow kings and monroe gfas shocks. The problem is when ever the suspension moves i get this horrible thumping noise.
Along with the squealing which i am sure is the bushes but this sounds like metal on metal.
Even when i back up hard it makes this noise.

Has anyone experianced anything simular?
And what could it possibly be?

I have checked all my springs to see if the have come out of position which they havent. I am stumped. Any help would be appriated.

i had exactly the same problem and after much f**k around with bushes and what not... it ended up simply being the exhaust hitting the sway bar and track bar

I had a problem with the metal on metal sounds. As it turned out, I needed my diff overhauled. I was getting sideways movement in the diff when turning corners.

And i forgot to tell the car is basically in near new condition s i purchased it off the orginal retired couple who had owned it since new. So i dont think they have been doing to many burnouts for the diff to play up.

Check the spare tyre compartment. Maybe your jack or spare is loose and wrattling.

When you lowered the car, were the control arms loosened and tightened again at the new ride height?

Have heard this exact thing discussed previously: turned out it was the tailshaft hitting the inside of the tunnel - in one case tearing some of the welded-on balance weights off.

Hope it works out for you.

This is more noticeable on long wheelbase cars but it is quite possible.. Involves getting under the car and seeing if it is rubbing against the tunnel. If it has, it is likely the weight could have come off. To fix, I think you need to get new bushes or other control arms.

Thanks guys will check. If it was the tailshaft though wouldnt it be hitting all the time if it was out of balance. I think it is coming from the left hand side of the car so i dont know if my fuel filter has come out of the rubber bracket that holds it or what. I will check on the weekend as i am flatout trying to jack my car up.

Thanks

Have a look at the lower shock mount bolts. I replaced the rears on my EL and it had a knocking sound over anything other than a billiard smooth. Retentioned the shock mounts (fken tight) and is now quiet as a mouse
