the oil warning lamp on my EB wagon comes on when the engine has warmed up and comes down when the engine is cool. there is sufficient oil in the engine. the car was serviced 3000kms back. any ideas on the cause? or what i need to do to fix/find out?

But seriously sounds like you oil pump has had it. Engine re-con time, or just buy a new one. Plenty of 2nd hand falcon engines available for the same price as a recon..

i'd say the oil pump is only part of the problem..... if the engine has done that many k's without a rebuild, i'd say the bearing clearances are letting too much oil through.....

what oil and grade of oil are you using?

sorry, dont know what oil was put in by the shop.

could you guys give me an idea of how much the recon or changing the engine would cost?
