in a month or so time im getting my mates LSD put into my car (single spinner at the moment, EF Gli) and im wondering whats involved in putting in the LSD? Is it a case of completely pulling the diff/axles out, or just changing the centre and gears? Its a 3.7 LSD btw.

You know you need a speedo calibration device?

With an LSD is it harder to smoke up the rears then a single wheeler as power is taken from the single spinning wheel and thrown onto the wheel with traction?

Agreed. But do ford make the correct gear for 3.7s? AFAIK no EF came out with this ratio.

Think there's plenty of electronic calibrators out there now.

It's harder to spin on an LSD as you have to spin two wheels, so more force or power or what ever is need to turn two wheels compared to turning just one wheel on a single spinner.

I was quoted 1200 by ftg auto salvage for an xr8 lsd conversion into my ef. then quoted me 495 to put lsd into original single wheeler? both these prices were fitted.

I used a fully synthetic castrol diff oil. Best stuff I could see off the shelf and why not, how often do people replace diff oil lol. LSD conversions at Narellan are like $800 fitted.
