Hi,
I have a NL, and on one of the back calipers the rubber is starting to crack. Is it easy enough to overhaul it? and what is involved? I know how to bleed the lines after just not done a caliper before. thanks |

The easiest way is to remove the caliper, plug up the service line on the car (stop it dripping)
Remove all pads/parts. Get a few rags and cover the piston and make sure it doesn't have a chance of flying.... and make sure your fingers are out of the way as your going to force compressed air into the fuild line. Piston pops out, clean bore/piston replace anything worn (scored) install new 'square' rubber seal, lube up with PBR rubber grease, install dust cover, and press in the piston. Clean all moving parts and rubber grease them all then bleed all lines. Please do this in Pairs.

Learnt a long time ago to ONLY do breaks in pairs, what you do to one side must be done to the other.

haha nah wasnt the hard way
 was some words of wisdom from a mate who was teaching bout working on cars when I first started doing my own sirvices and repairs.

or you can buy an entire new caliper for $70 bucks from hightek.

yeah pretty sure. youd have to speak to em though to confirm. dad got a whole new caliper for his lane for about $70 from em.
