G'day
Probably been covered before but i cant seem to find any thing on it. Ive painted calipers before, taken them off the car masked em up painted and then put them back on. The problem is ive got my brake conversion kit with the new calipers. The discs masked up fine but the tape wont stick to the calipers. I want to mask up the rubber boots and the pistons aswell as some of the bolts that may need to be undone later. Ive tried every tape i can think of but nothing sticks. There must be some sort of grease on them but i cant see anything. What can i do? Cheers

Cheers IF they are coated with something that is preventing the tape from sticking, that you can bet that the paint won't stick either. Maybe you will have to hit them with some form of cleaner to remove it. |

When I did mine, first step was degreaser, then deoxidiser (de-rust) and wire brush, then dry and paint.
