when talking wheels can any body tell me what pcd 5 x 112 mean as i am looking at putting after maket wheels on my xy wagon

It means 5 bolt holes and the distance between each hole centre is 112mm.
The main thing you need to find out is the offset as this will determine if the wheel sits too far out and scrubs the guard, or to far in and fowls the suspension components.

112 (mm) is actually the diameter of the circle that the 5 holes are evenly spaced around. Your XY is 5 x 114.3 PCD and has a + 10 (someone feel free to correct me if it's + 5) offset. + 40 is way to positive for your XY. That guys wheels are probably for a mid sized, late model car.

Totally agree, the xy is +10. The +40 wheels with a pcd of 114.3 came in after xa falcons (i think) i know that xd onwards is +40. Ba and au is even offset. Cheers

offset for most fords before 1998 El ford is +6p 5 on 114.3, XB falcon on had larger centre hole. later AU use same offset as holdens which is +38p thats why you need spacers to fit Au rims to E-series
