ok i have a lowered falcon and i have been suffering from vibrations like every one else.
I was wondering if anyone has had any luck with different upper control arms to correct pinion angle and if so what arms??? I was under the impression that the whiteline control arm kit was only to stop people from having to press their new bushes in not to correct pinion angle.(am i wrong)

I dont think the pinion angle is the issue, Id start by checking the uni's and also making sure theres freeplay in the tailshaft yoke / gearbox output shaft (where is slides in / out of the gearbox) because usually when you lower the car, the tailshaft yoke bottems out on the output shaft and causes the vibration. You may need to get the tailshaft shortened.
Also check the rear engine mount (gearbox mount) isnt broken. |

nah new uni joints, balanced tail shaft when i put in the old springs it goes away, the mounts are good and the tail shaft gearbox end looks new. the only thing left is the pinion angle

same thing happened to me
superlows in the rear = anoying vibration. I also did the unis first but that didnt work. Im taking the car into wheels world today to get him to have a look under the car. Not sure if he can measure the pinion angle, but we shall see what he says. i had a quick chat to him the other day and he believes that whiteline arms will solve the problem. I have heard however that this is not the case. Anyway, ill let you know how it goes. This vib has been annoying me for long enough, let see if whiteline works.

If the Whiteline upper arms are longer it may help. The pinion needs to come up.

The diff has to tilt forward! the ideal pinion angle is 4 deg with car sitting flat with full tank of fuel.

Have you changed your diff at all?
I had a problem when my LSD was fitted, the upper control arms were rubbing againsed it. I fitter XR upper control arms and it fixed the problem... (XR upper control arms are just a little bit of a different shape to standard....) hope this helps you, coz it took me ages to find this out. Good bloke on therse forums dropped that hint. I think it was arm79 or something like that...

no i have the standard diff and have changes nothing at all except for suspension. pinion angle is noticably pointing down compared to standard
you guys are right we need a longer top control arm. but which one. is a ticky one longer or is a whiteline one longer (i think they are not) any ideas!!

I've been told on Aust Ford Forums that the EL Tickford arms may be longer. I've already played around with moving my uppers to the other mounting holes on the diff and the vibration got worse as the diff nose dropped even further. Going to hunt around for an EL XR to stick my head under and sus out the upper arms. If they are different I'll grab some from a wrecker and experiment...

Our other option is to lower the rear of the trans. Haven't tried that yet.

Here's hoping then. I'm doing a diff change very soon, going lsd, so I'll wait til that's out of the way before chasing some XR arms.

If I can get a pair from a wrecker for stuff all I'll try them first... If I spend over $100 and the vib is still there I'll be p****d off!
