If you put it back the same way and installed the shims as they were, it shouldn't whine,
Might even be worth placing cones/spider gears back in it (even if they're from another diff) or else you'll break another axel in a short time... taking into count these cars are heavy. I'd just slap it back together, add a normal oil (Not 80/140) and see if it does whine. and if it doesn't whine... check to see if it runs Hotter than normal. there should be a couple of thou back lash... if theres none.. it'll get hot and most prolly will whine. If your doing it in ur backyard... good luck as you don't have the shims to mess around with.... idea is to measure them and add them up.. then play around with different thicknesses... all you can do is swap em till u get a nice backlash

All jibberish to me, lol it has one shim per side of the bearings, it all went back together exactly how it came out...
