Ford just installed my new diff and clutch after some deliberation.

Anyway, just picked up the car and as im driving home, notice this weird (ticking, metalic, cricket sounding) noise. Im not sure how to explain it, it's like something is rubbing or vibrating or something.

When u either slightly touch the clutch pedal or put your foot under the clutch pedal and lift up slightly, the noise dissapears, so im guessing it has to do with the clutch but where to start looking?

Anyone have any ideas what this could be as I really dont want to go through the drama of giving my car back to ford again.

And its not 100% of the time, on the very rare occasion, it isnt noticable, but 99% of the time it's driving me crazy.

Thanks guys

Go back and take the mechanic around the block to show them the noise.

It's already been back for it and I cant as I need the car for work. :x

They had it for 3 days. It'll be 2 weeks b4 I can get there again.

If I have to it will go back but I was just wondering if anyones had similar issues and if they were easy to resolve.

It'd be the clutch fork tapping the bellhousing.
Get under the car and pry open the dust excluder while the car is idling and I bet you can see it sitting there vibrating against the bellhousing.

Thanks mate, though I didnt pay for it directly,

I bought the car from a dealer with a warranty on the provision that the clutch and diff were fixed.

I am very grateful that they ended up finally fixing the problems but it's just annoying that im missing out on a lot of business as I need the car for work, and its also wasting their time just because they take shortcuts.

I was just hoping that I could fix the prob myself and save us all some time.

Definately let them redo it as it retains your warranty (such as it is) BUT if you or someone else touches it while under warranty they can VOID the remaining warranty
