Hi everyone.

Ive got a Ford t5 gearbox and im having trouble identifying what it is out of.

So far I believe it is out of a series 1 au = WR2A code.

I want to work out if it is V8 or V6

Please see markings below:

GEARBOX HOUSING: I 3-52-065-922 G

TAG: WR2A-7003-AA 0557-001 (1007 indented)

SHIFTER HOUSING: 0557-066906A

BELLHOUSING: B4 82 B4 81

The item is listed on ebay here with pics.

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll ... :MESELX:IT

Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers

Dave

Hi. Thats a handle website.

Im not convinced though.

The site says the code off the tin tag. The code you used was off the housing.

WR2A is AU code so im not sold on it being a mustang/capri box

Cheers

out of curiosity does it have a neutral switch ? my au (allegedly tremec) box doesn't. Just a reverse switch & speedo sender mount.

Yeh I know, hence my smiley face because I knew that we have no idea what the T5 was fitted to in Australia or have a database like they do in the U.S.

Maybe the AU's (hence WR2A on tin tag) used Ford mustang gearbox housing and gears (hence 1352-065 stamped on casing).

Still would be interesting to know what the WR2A "7003-AA" means.

hmm.

My AU didn't have a neutral switch either.

Not too sure what that is. Looks like AU V8.

I have an AU T5z (which I think all AU V8 T5's were) and it's code is WR2T-7003-BB

Although looking at that eBay link, I'm wondering why it has a castle maine rodshop bellhousing. If it was a V8 T5, it shouldn't need a custom bellhousing.

Not AU V8. My Aug 98 build AU had TREMEC cast into the main housing and Borg Warner Automotive on the gear case access point.
