i think it was second gear or first..... and good for 250rwkw ummm how about no.. it runs 155rw he is also on his 5th diff. hate to say it but i think your mate just needs to ease up on the shifting...he probably is snapping it into 2nd with too much force killing synchros and what not in the process. I reckon they are good up to about 200rwkw to be on the safe side...but 250rwkw is achievable. As to the topic...even though it is a pain in the a** to do the manual conversion, it was well worth the effort by me and those who helped me (thanks punktured and H3AT). Manual over Auto unless you want to have huge amounts of power. phong =P~

i love my autos for my daily driver. but if i had any type of sports car it would have to be manual.
an auto with a nice big torquey V8 would be my dream. i'll definately give you that manuals are fun - but not for all the time. i love hoping into a manual after i've been driving an auto. but after a while i get over it. in the end if definately think it comes down to what the car in question is. |

E-series - Manual. There is no other choice if it's every last inch of performance you're looking for.
A-series - As above. B-series - Get's tricky. I'd go; XR8 - Manual GT - Manual F6 - 6 speed auto XR6T - 4 or 6 speed auto XR6 / XT - Manual 5.4 litre 3 valve - auto |

I'm also a manual fan. I converted my EA from auto to manual and the difference was huge.

If its a weekend car, and you like driving it other than just the drags... go for a manual. ALso if you don't have to drive it in and out of the city 5 days a week get a manual.
Auto's are good for city driving and if you can't be f**k pushing the clutch in all the time. The V8 T5's are fairly strong, i'm the same as Damo, around the 250rwkw mark, and the T5 *touch wood* is holding up fine. |

manual for sure
i cry myself to sleep cos i cant afford a conversion yet. the sound of a manual punchen down the gears is just tooo good by the way anyone want to donate an El XR8 box n gear.
