AGREE converted from auto, never going auto again.

auto plus's = smoother, easier... ummm blows up?
manual plus's = MUCHO fun, faster,did i mention fun?

yes i know he said , shift kitted/hi stalled auto, but once you aproach a bent in the road a manual is a more fun place to be.

When my parents asked me if I had any preferences for a car when I was soon getting my license, I said I didn't care what the car was, as long as it was manual.

Lucky for me, they bought me a Falcon.

Manual. All the way. My dad's BF XR6 (which is becoming mine at the end of next year) is manual. If it was auto, I wouldn't even consider buying it.

How strong are the T5 cluster gears anyway? I know when i drove old commodores i went through M20's & M21's like there was no tommorow

ptttf, the falcon T5 box is bulletproof for anything up to 250rwkw, its clutches, tailshafts and diffs that start to go

any one that has driven a e-series manual will rather a manual, the main thing i noticed with the mauals is theres sooo much more noticable torque in the lower revrange.

the auto has its advantages but most of them are lost when you add 4.11 diff gears, 3000rpm highstaller and a shift kit.

Falcon T5 Is NOT bullet proof my mate has broken 2 separate 5 speeds in his EA it runs 14 flat tho, but not bullet proof.

i think it was second gear or first.....

and good for 250rwkw ummm how about no.. it runs 155rw
he is also on his 5th diff.

damo with a supercharged ef xr8 is running 297rwhp and a t5, run many 13.5 second passes and the box is surviving. i might suggest your mate doesnt treat the car very nicley.
