You used to be able to make a claim against local government for pothole damage, wonder if that is still the case?

That certainly is the case here in Melbourne. My son wrecked all four tyres and after discussions with 2 councils--we are just on the border, they paid out for new tyres.

Man, And I thought a plumbers crack looked nasty....Thats pretty damn bad. Inferior quality alloy perhaps? No alloy wheel should crack like that just because of a pot hole. I've driven over some bloody big pot holes with the snowflakes on my ED, Living in the country and driving on dirt roads alot and I've never cracked a rim.
Depending on when you bought the rims I'd go back to where you bought them and see if you could get it changed over.

mystro wrote: pics the last one i seen the crack was almost all the way round, when you get the tyre off, feel how thick the mag is and do the same to a australian certified mag.just for comparison my mags---17sx8 weigh 13kgs each----aust.post scales, how much do yours weigh?mine are 5 spoker---csa prowlers,by your photo i think 13 plus would be a fair-avg.weight.

went to tyre place today ,and they said road damge no warranty for that.
if you look close you can see a buckle, they say that caused the rim to crack b/s the buckle happend when the tyre was already flat. from the rim splitting from really a minor bump and having to gather up the car aswell as pull over on a traffic filled hwy .the tyres dont have a scratch on them and the edge of the tyre covers the rim,i cant see tar bein able to lever the buckle without scratching the rubber in the slightest |
