Discovered a problem with my EL Fairmont....
The power/economy button doesn't work. It doesn't even light up on the dash. Could it be something as simple as the button or could there be something wrong with the transmission? I checked all of the fuses and they are all fine.

My Econ light globe blew a little while ago, it might be as simple as that. If the transmission is doing the same thing with the switch in both positions (it's pretty easy to tell the difference between the two modes, at least it is in my EF) then I'd probably suggest looking at the switch first as that's nice and easy to get out and replace, but that's about the extent of my knowledge.

It is possible that the switch might be buggered. Even when you switch it from Economy to Power mode it does nothing.....Hoping it's just the switch. Might call into the wreckers this arvo and try another switch and see what happens.

You can use a piece of wire to short the plug for testing - one line goes to earth, the other to the ECU.
