Hi guys, i have a feeling ive got a power steering leak as the oil from the power steering is just dissapearing fast,

Does this mean a screwed pump? And if so, how can i check if its gone or not? a few people says a power steering pump can leak from a few places.

Cheers.

Its pretty easy to see where its leaking from. Look at the back of the pump, if no leaks look down further at the pipes, if no leaks there, look at the plug/switch on the steering rack, if not leaking there, its probably leaking out of the boots.

As per post before, just check all the steering components and seek out where the leak is coming from, the pump is usually easy to see, as its almost always down the bottom front, just behind the pulley. Also the High Pressure hose is very common, this being the easiest as cheapest one to fix.

Next would be your lines, but unless they appear really old, cracked and worn, then it won't be these.

The rack on the other hand, most common is the pressure switch. If the car is always gettin full locked, then the seals are doing so much more work than they should be. To check that, cut the zip ties on the boot (end that is on the rack end), peel back, if there is any oil in there whatsoever, your internal's are screwed and will need a changeover.

I have both, the pump and rack available (not hoses) if you need any. Just let me know.
