Cut the power steer belt off and just drive the sucker. Steering will be heavy as s**t but get over it. Use to put up with this crap all the time. Hell I used to wind the windows up and down.

If you want to drive this car take the pump out of the other EF/EL car you have and you could drive the ute until you fix it.

ok, it was the belt, what a fool i am, BUT i have a dilemma, after refitting the belt, everything lines up except the pully on the engine, umm harmonic balancer i think its called,
well this sticks forward so the belt wont stay on when you crank the engine, how did it get pushed forward, could it have been when i did the t5 conversion on the weekend? the hammering of the spigot bearing into the back of the crank, would it be possible ? can i just bash it back or what, help please

your harmonic balancer is stuffed...
the outer has seperated from the centre.. it needs to be replaced asap, otherwise the belt will come off and do more damage... |
