problem is that the power steering is really still feels like there is no power steering, dont know what caused it, drove the car into the garage, did a t5 conversion, drove it out and worked fine for a min or two, then suddenly no power steering, what should i do to figure out what is wrong??

Perhaps not a switch as such but the pressure control valve - im pretty sure its inside the pump itself - dont quote me - i have the same problem with my eb1 mont and the missus dad said it could be the pressure control vavle - I would be able to tell you more but I honestly cant be f**k fixing the eb or putting money into it so its as it is . . . the book i have for ef/l says something about it in the powersteering pump overhaul section but doesnt really go into it - its a s**t book . . . |

watch out. you might crash if you have to swerve quickly. a Falcon is pretty heavy without P/steer

Im not gunna tell you yes or no simply cause if have an accident I dont wanna be the one that stupidly says yes - I still drive the EB but I dont go very far - maybe up the shops and back but thats about it . . . I personally just dont like running the risk of going to far from home in it or going on the HWYS at 100kph coz of the fact it probably is dangerous . . .

Like the old days. The faster you go the lighter the steering.

It depends on what is actually wrong - it could fail . . . i guess . . . What do you mean by lock on straight? If it completly fails im guessing that the wheels will stay at whatever point they were at when it failed - so if your going around a corner you would be f**k and even on a straight it could die just before a corner or while you have the steering slightly turned which in both cases if im correct you wouldnt have much chance to avoid an accident . . . Unless you know the actual problem if I were in your shoes I wouldnt drive . . . and as WILDEB said the falcons are very heavy with no power steering and if you have to turn sharply youll be more likley to crash |
