hi my power steering pump is stuffed i have replacement only problem is dont knoe how to get the pullies off (newone has larger pully)

Any help???? :?:

Hi there, I havnt looked to see what car you have, so Im just guessing.

You have an EA - ED falcon, you have bought a pump that has a bigger pulley, meaning that you have now bought an XF pump??

Do the pump canisters look EXACTLY the same??

Is the pump brand new, reco or 2nd hand?


As for your question, to get the pulley's off, you will need a pulley removing tool, and the cheapest one that i've seen(and bought) is $87.

So I would suggest either taking the pump back to where you got it from, and either exchange it for the right one, or get your money back and buy a full reco one from me lol.

the pump is off an xe the canisters are the same i tried a pully puller but it appears that i need a bloody huge allen key

All of(or 99%) fords power steering pumps, the pulley are pressed on, hence why I said you will need a pulley removing tool. And they are not cheap for the right ones. Otherwise you will damage the pulley.

As I said previously, would be easier and less time consuming for you to take it back to where you got it from, and change to the right pump, or buy one from myself.

The allen key hole with thread inside is there to deter people from trying them selves to change pulleys so you have to take it back for Ford and pay them to deal with it. Money making sceme between Ford and PWR.

As a builder I cant say ive found that a decent use for that hole.
