Indeed, why, might as well put a Borg W 3 speed then, wrong box for wrong car, be silly to attempt this.

i havent heard of anyone putting a powerglide behind one yet, a few people are running C4's, including a few 10 sec falcon I6's, i think the main deterent would be a falcons weight, but a 4.0ltr in a cortina would be interesting with a glide behind it.
and for the people wondering why, the powerglide is one of the best power handling gearboxes around for the dollars and also less changes means a quicker 1/4, but you have to have the torque to compensate for the taller first gear off the mark. glides are that tuff that there is a few drag cars running clutched glide's, no torque converter, just a normal clutch, dump it at high revs and then instant lock up, awsome change into top aswell.

Thanx Yobbo, I think that a gutted EA wouldn't be much heavier than a Cortina. Good Corts are getting impossible to find. 1/4 Jnr is pointing at C4 tho (I have a built glide)

We used to stick em behind all sorts of motors, old stuff, like red motors, etc, but not on a newer car. Especially for the road, pointless.
