a mate of mine has a ba xr6 series1 with a ba series 2 gearbox he bought a bf xr6t cradle and diff (blew the standard 1) but the problem is that the series 1 tailshaft wont fit onto the bell housing on the diff.
we went out to get a bf 6t tailshaft (couldnt find 1) but every1 is saying that the ba's xr and bf's xr6t tailshaft are the same width to bolt on to the diff can i change the bell housing on the diff to match the ba's diff onto the tailshaft or try and find a bf's tailshaft and rejoin it at the uni-joint if they are the same length what do u recon would b easier. cheers in advance

I take its a sedan as you mention a UJ in the centre. There are different diameter CV's, the smaller one is 99mm and the larger 107mm. If you cant source a whole driveshaft you can have the CV changed on the driveshaft to suit the companion flange on the diff.

yes it is a sedan, and its an lsd (old 1 wasnt) whats the worst that can happen if we take the bolt (on the diff where the tailshaft bolts onto) off and change it to the 99mm is there anything we have to watch out for?
because we have been told that there is a rubber thingy behind it that may colapse?????? when we unbolt it would it make it slightly out off ballance or the play on the wheels any different? also i just found out the motor isnt standard not sure what he has done but it went as quick as my bf 6t (with the old diff)
