Hi guys. i want to put the pintara's 4.11 diff into my el xr6 manual. Do i have to get the whole diff or am i able to just get the crown and the pinion. Where in sydney can you get them and for how much. how much would the diff place charge to put them in. Who has done it and how complicated was it.
thanks

i have done it. We did a rush job, didnt set clearances and they lasted bout 3 months and now whine like a pom!
I have another set which i scored for free so i will be taking my time this time. If your asking you shouldnt be doing it, but diff places make a killing on fitting these. They'll most likely charge you $200 for gears plus $300 labour!

probably more. then there is bearings and a pinion seal. the reason they charge like they do is because people expect a good job and a warranty.

I heard that the Pintara gears fit the single-spinner 3.08 diff. Is this B.S.?

I'd rather get an LSD than actually go to the trouble of fitting 4.11's into my single-spinner, but just curious anyhow.

we did the diff in my ED XR6 for Zoom with DiffTrans out in western Sydney, that should be coming out in a few months I think.

they are very good and could sought you out with 4.11 gears and an LSD shim job

i'd have to check my notes again to get the exact price but it was around $400 or something

ED is essentially stock! I have BBM and thermos and stuff ready for a round of simple DIY upgrades but have no time in the last few months. The plan was to fit a simple bolt-on supercharger kit or something. But I am actually looking at selling it in the not too distant future and buy something later model as my daily. I have my XD that is my project but that is still in Perth and need to sort my s**t out with a new daily first.

yeah, the smithfield place isn't bad either

but, yeah, do it properly. I used to have an esky that blew diffs left right and centre, it was an epic pain in the a** to keep changing them. Now, of course, I do less burnouts, but it would still be better to get the diff overhauled.
