C4's can be built to run well over 1000HP - just not sure if there is anyone outside the US that plays with the Performance Automotive gear. Things like 6 gear planetary a*** and billet hardened input and output shafts are available through these guys - as well as Kevlar bands and clutches. Summit Racing has their gear in their catalouge. An auto with a stall converter will always work better on a turbo car as there is no coming off boost.

I'd be looking for a used ex race Hollinger box. Maybe call some of the racecar prep shops. They are really expensive but Ive seen them go for under 5grand out of ex racers

That's alot of torque! - was that at the flywheel?

No thats at the wheels.

Thanks, there is a couple of things to balance, being able to back a trailer and drive the car too and from work at 110km on the highway is more important to more important to me than getting off the line quickly in a drag, in fact i dont drag it at all so most of the auto set-ups are not any good. No good trying to back a trailer with a 4,500rpm stall..

I think i'll end up going with the Custom T56 6 speed, that Mal Wood will build up to spec for me, combine with a new 11inch clutch with Custom balanced, lightened steel flywheel should work well. It will not be as quick on the quarter as a 3 speed auto but that is of no real concern to me.....

I just want a tough street car. why cant god just let me have it and be happy.......

Yeah now i'm wondering how hard 500rwkw would be to get?
The turbo will start to max out soon thats the only thing stopping me that i can see.

No, just constantly working on stuff to bring in extra money, i have a fireworks business + a lighting and sound business doing DJ'ing and hiring effects + work full time in a normal job. My wife has just finished work to have a baby so $8,000 is not much fun, but it's got to be done and i might as well get a better result out of it so aiiming for more power and beter drivability as a result. (not that it was bad to drive anyway)

My wife is not interested in cars and has no desire to drive my car. She doesn't like the power and the fact that the car is low. She also doesn't want to be responsible for being the one that has an accident in it.

Besides she has her own car which is tidy enough for a daily drive.

If you get an auto and want good times at the track then start planning for a 9" conversion and slicks as well. Unless your contempt to do 360's on the start line!

This T56 of Mal Wood's, is that 9k for a flywheel, clutch, box combo? I personally like the sounds of the manual as I prefer circuits over 1/4 miles. It tests the car and driver more.

Remember, reliability + big power/torque = lotsa moolah, otherwise every Tom, d**k and Harry would be driving Murcielago's, Enzo's and 1370rwnm EL XR6's!

I prefer ciurcut racing too and loved th Phillip Island Track.
It actually comes to approx $8,000 and thats for everything, 11" custom clutch, lightened steel flywheel, gearbox and all material requried to make it fit. So it's not too bad i suppose.

Hollinger 6 speed from an ex race car would be perfect for you... as long as you dont mind a dog box :D Most of the serious power ciruit cars have been using them for years... unbreakable.

PPGearboxes are meant to be pretty strong arent they? i've seen on in a gold R33 that drifts in SA and it go a fair ammount of go...just don't know how you'd go driving a dox box around town. what about the 4spd top loaders from the old falcons or do u want/need 5-6 gears?
