R31 skylines use the very same LSD centres as falcons do, 28spline borg warner from my understanding, so wouldnt that mean if skyline diffs are s**t then so are ours

i want a 3.45 ratio but a LSD VL diff will be hard to come by, have to fight off the fully sick bros that want it for their VL, what sort of RPMs at 110 in a manual EA with 3.7s?

maybe be but i have never heard of any storys of whining of ea > diffs and yeah my family have had 3 different EAs in our life mates have had ea's EBs' ED' etc and yeah never heard anything that i knew was diff whine, i think that Nissan just chuck the R31 together to try and compete with the family sedan market in the early 80's were ford have been making family cars since the like xw or something, and they probably mad the diff setup differnet even though the centre may be the same the construdtion of the diff can be similar but different

new rpms = (new ratio/old ratio)x old rpms @ speed

should be 2100 @ 110 (2.92 gears)

approx 2700 @ 110 (3.7 gears)

the xr6s had 3.45 LSD diff which would bolt in easily..

yeah thats too high, i do a bit of freeway driving so thats no good. can anyone confirm if a EF/EL xr6 diff will bolt in? they are 3.45? someone said that you need to use an EB bushs on the diff mounts and control arms? looking for a definate answer so i can get to work before my EA diff gives up, it's making some nasty noises.

R31 skylines are 25 splines from memory, but the sillohette was 28 spline.

But yep, they are all 78 series BW diffs. I put an LSD center out of an XD Fairmont (25 spline) into my VL commodore, used the standard 3.45 VL gears, just changed the carrier.
