I take it your talking about an extension housing seal where the driveshaft fits into? If so its probarbly a good idea to replace the extension housing bush at the same time. the extension housing has to be removed and easier to take it cleaned to a trans place. Should cost you no more than $40 fitted.

About $20 for a 4 lip genuine oil seal, about $25 for a bronze slip yoke bush, about $ 12 for a new gasket, and an hours labour.
