today i swapped the brake resevior holder over to a newer polished unit.. but when i put it all back togeher again and pumped the brake pedal a few times i only had the front brakes clamping... the rear disc's do not seem to be working?

*any idea's to get my rear brakes working? bleed the system?

Bleeding the system probably wouldnt do any harm.

Oh did you change your rear pads at the same time? maybe you didnt put the caliper on properly?

bleed bleed bleed.
I did mine with a fluid flush a few weeks ago and it took about 3 bottles 1.5 ltr to get it clean.
made a huge difference.

didnt do the brake pads... i changed over the master brake cylinder.. (the matal bit that is attached to the brake booster and under the brake fluid resevior.. i didnt bleed the system and i have a feeling thats the source of the problem.. im at work atm so will have to fix tomorrow morning...

HAHA if only i had one.. would be handy in the WSID burnout comp instead of clamping the rear brake lines... (so dodgy :lol: )

You can be guaranteed you'll have air in the system.
Other thing is that you need to make sure your replacement mast cyl has the same split point for the front/rear proportioning valve. From memory, sedans and commercials are the same, wagons are different - the split point (in Mpa), is stamped on the front.

was a lil busy today but im going to bleed the brakes tomorow morning.. will see how it goes and will get back to you all.. cheers for the help.. :wink:

well....i bled the brakes yesterday with the dads help to get the job done quick.. bled both front and back brakes.. and replaced the Front disc pads as was right down to 1 millimetre left of pad...Had a spare set of frot brake pads brand new that come in handy... :wink:

Brakes are back to normal now.. cheers guys... :wink:
