Will FG rear calipers bolt straight onto an AU1 beam axle or is there going to need to be some type of spacer or something to make them fit??

I've upgraded the front now want to do the rear before doing the master cylinder, any info (preferably positive!!) would be great, cheers!!

you can fit them, for live axle there are 2 ways, the cheap easy way which is space the caliper carrier about 3mm from the backing plate, or because its live axle the better but more work involved way is to get ba ute or ba station wagon backing plates, this does involve pulling your axles out but once its done you can fit ba to fg and even territory rear brakes straight on without spacers...

irs needs 3mm spacers between caliper bracket and backing plate.

Replacing the backing plate sounds like a much better plan, I want to replace the bearings in the diff while it's out of the car anyway may as well do it all properly, cheers for the info, much appreciated!!

I've gotten around to buying some calipers and put them on the diff with the old AU discs and they fit. Is it necessary to replace the backing plate/put a 3mm spacer on the mounting??

If I can keep the standard discs I'd be happy because they're so much lighter.
