gday just wanting opinions.

i bought a "reco" t5 manual 8months ago and its been jumping out of second for a few months took it down to the place i got it from after holidays and have been told that the syncros are worn out.

is that normal? i give it a hard time but im not thrashing it.

they want 350 to replace the syncros.

i cant see how it could be rooted if it was a full reco to start with?

just depends on what parts they used when they reco'd it in the first place.

if they used second hand or refurbished parts they usually won't guarantee them lasting very long.

shouldnt it still be under waranty??

syncro's shouldnt wear out that fast..
maybe when it was reco'd they only changed what needed to be changed, so it sounds more like a repaired t5 rather than a reco..???

im surpised they even gave a 12month warranty on it

reconditioned is NOT the same as rebuilt

basically they did a repair on the box, so it was running like it should and left the other parts alone, then sell it.

hopefully you didnt pay that much in the first place

What Troyman said...

Tell them to fix it, or you take it to the ACCC and see what they will do. Warranty means they will fix their s**t if it breaks.

Do you have an aftermarket shifter fitted? Maybe the stopper plate needs adjusting?
