I am after the best way to remove the seal (the one that sits at the back of the rotor) from the rotor itself.
I am fitting some DBA, but there is no seals on them. How do I remove them??

If ur changing rotors, It'd be silly not to use new bearings and a new seal at the same time.
what is it... $20 pair of bearings and $2.50 for a dust cap? Anyways, I've always hit them out with a ½ drive extension, but then again I never reused them

again new seals at the bare minimum, and repack bearings or better yet replace em, especially if there is ANY signs of wear.

I like to see anyone try pulling a seal out and keeping it in condition that it could be reused, they'd have to be a magican. Buy new ones, everytime. Cost is only about $3-4ea

Hey guys. I am getting some dba rotors and some pads soon and I'm not sure what the deal is with the bearings and seals. I am getting a mechanic I know to put the rotors on when I get them coz I really have no idea how and I would rather get him to do it as brakes are important.
You guys recommend doing the bearings and seals as well. So what do i have to go to ford and ask for exactly so that I can get the mechanic to do this for me aswell? Cheers.

seals cost bugger all and if you use the old ones your an idiot. as for bearings, they're certainly not that expensive so if they havent been done for as long as you remember why not just fit new ones. at the very least if you dont replace bearings, at least repack them with nice new grease

almost every auto store will have hub seals in stock, just mention what car, should be all of $5 for the two.
and if you can get new bearings, timken or skf, should be around $25 kit for one side, may need to be ordered in, these should include new hub seals.

Thanks for the offer mate but your probably thinking that I live in Stirling in the Adelaide Hills. But it is actually Stirling North which is just outside of Port Augusta. So I'm about 300ks from Adelaide. I guess I will just go into ford and ask them for the bearings etc.
