Has anyone replaced their auto's input shaft seal? My max ellery's manual tells me stuff-all about how to do this. The gearbox is out of the car at present.

Yup - did it do my Auto because it dropped about 5cm when the converter was in it full o fluid and smashed the seal
Remove the torque converter, Remove old seal (I used a pair of multi grips to twist it out so I didnt make any nice scratches) - You need a tool that will get into a smaler area with a little bit of leverage. Installing the new Seal is fairly easy - same as a brake seal on a front Hub - gently drive it in evenly so it doesnt distort. Seal should be genuine if I recall. Cheers Nigel |

Thanks Nigel, it sounds fully viable.
