ok so i thought my **** ups were over lol but i managed to damage the gasket on the input shaft/pump housing bit of the BTR.
so now tranny fluid pisses out of the bellhousing.

is this a gasket that i can replace at home, or is it something a tranny shop will have to do?
im thinking i might take it to a shop anyway cause i really cbf pulling the auto out again, but i dont think it would be too cheap :(

You could pull the auto out, take it to them, they do the work, then you fit....saves labour on R&R...???

only got one car lol
and if its not a hard gasket to replace (which i dont think it is) then the harest (most annoiying) part is pulling the auto out and re fitting

Or pull it out, buy the part & install it yourself. it will be hard but you'll save s**t loads of money in the process.

yeah im more just wondering if i actually can replace it myself - so im hoping that someone else has had to replace this part themself also.
i've just done a complete engine swap on my own lol so i can pull the auto out again, as much as i'd hate to. but i guess its the only way.

when i was putting the converter back in.
it was dark and it went in on a slight angle, so it damaged the gasket

I replaced one at home - bit fiddly getting the old one out, but otherwise not too hard.

Ford genuine seal only I believe - but Tranny places will carry them

well i picked up 2 new seals (1 extra just in case lol) for $7 each.
the new seals are chunky and strong as f**k, so i dont think i will have any issues braking this even if i put the converter in on a slight angle.
the seal thats in the box at the moment has the strength of gasket goo, or even weaker.
so it just seems that the seal had lost its strength and wasn't as forgiving when putting the converter back in.

so i would recommend anyone thats got an auto out to replace this seal, just in case :)
