Wondering if anyone out there has found a simple method of restoring driveshaft angle in their E-series after lowering it?
I've super-lows all round, but took another coil off the rear springs to sit just nicely, but now I have the dreaded tailshaft vibe happening.
In the old days we used to wedge the leaf spring mounts to restore some driveshaft angle, but obviously this isn't the case with an EB diff.

Any one been there, done that? :?:

i spose if you had an EL diff, you could use one of the other holes in the diff for the upper arm. This would help rotate the diff up a bit.

Not sure if the EB/ED had different mounting points for the upper arm but maybe you could drill - though they would need to be 100% precise.

I think Whiteline make adjustable upper control arms for the rear. I may have to look into them soon also.

Sits nice now.
Try and track down an ED XR diff, and use either ED XR or EL upper arms on the lowest diff mounting point.

Or you'll have to try and take a template of the mounting holes off an ED XR diff and redrill the holes in your stock housing like xf_xr6 said.
You'll need to pull axles to get the drill low enough, and its an awkward job.
Would be easier with one of those air powered drills that doesn't have a big body, as opposed to an AC/battery drill.

I've never heard of adjustable upper control arms for E-Series, and Whiteline don't list them.

They may not list them but may be able to help source them. Its becoming a common problem now with incorrect pinion angle on lowered E series resulting in driveline vibrations and premature UJ wear. So an adjustable upper control arm for E series would be perfect for correcting pinion angle but a "Dana Angle Master" will be needed to measure correctly.

I've never had a drama with ultralows in both my EDs, one with stock ED XR diff and arms, the other with ED XR diff and nolathane EL uppers..

You're lucky!

It's not so bad, it's just that I now notice a slight vibe on cruise or over-run around 35-40kph and 85-90kph, which wasn't there before I got the angle grinder out. Not too fussed, but if there was a simple tried and tested method of putting some angle back into to diff, I would try it.

Thanks to all who posted. I might give it a couple more days in case someone else has found a simple method, then I'll just get used to it and lose interest :wink:

i also want to put super low's all round my EB..
is the vibe because you cut the extra at the back or will I also have this issue/problem ?

Hi idlizn...
it only occurred after I took an extra coil out of the rear superlows. Before that, the standard superlows posed no problem with vibration or ride.
Plus, the vibe is more noticeable with a full tank of fuel (therefore slightly lower again, due to extra weight of fuel) and improves marginally as the tank empties. Not really fussed, I'm getting used to it now!
