Yeah sorry you are right, wasn't a good comparison. But I still stand by my original post of EB/ED and even up to EL that the abs is crap.

Don't get me wrong, its brilliant in the wet, but i find on the dry it can actually hinder brake performance. I have done a test to compare, and with proper braking technique, you can stop quicker than with abs.

^^^^^ This has always been the case. ABS was designed for the 99% of drivers that don't have a clue about driving technique (just like my missus)any I say fit it if not for you than for whoever else might drive your car. My 2c

i also think there is a big difference between the ef and the ba.

In the sense is that the ef can shirp the wheels every now and then with abs...The ba is soo much better and probably faster. But its worth converting to the ef/el abs. Maybe look in to smartlock at the same time cause thats worth it...But when u look at it u just turning a ea into a ef.

well i was more hinting at putting abs in my ef, as i can get hold of the setup for about a hundred bucks.

ECU has nothing to do with ABS!

you don't have to change the diff, you only need to change over the axles to ABS ones which have a pulse ring.

Is it posible to fit the EL abs system to replace the ED abs system? I want to get away from the dropping pedal when the wheels lock.

I would say no ... the ABS uses both the engine and the body wiring looms to work. Although the system is independant of every other part of the car, in a sense it requires the two looms to match. I very much doubt it would work, at least without a lot of rewiring

My ED has a EL XR6 auto driveline in it, so I've added bits of the EL wiring loom but would I need more of it to run the EL abs?
