hi guys.
i am trying to fit 9.5" x 17" rims to the rear of my ba. i trial fitted them today and found that the bolt on the lower arm of the suspention only clears the rim by about 2 mm. do you think that is too close to be safe?

I would allow more clearance to be safe. 2mm seems like madness!! I would allow 10mm at least!! But thats me, I like to play safe!

Just go faster, Like a remote control car, the faster you go, the thinner but taller they get!
meh, 10mm.

thats what i feel too.
dunno what to do now. might have to look into getting the rims made narrower. 1/3" would be ample to clear it. really frustrating but i guess it's a lesson learned - fit first, then buy.

Now I might get flamed for suggesting this, but is it possible for you to use a slip on ring spacer? of perhaps 2 to 4 mm?
Assuming the nuts still have plenty of thread to grab onto, theres nothing else they really effect.. |

I was just about to suggest a slip on spacer krisisdog, will suit perfect, and in such a slim thickness, will be fine for regular usage

Unless you are looking for them, they are not noticable

Or you could just get a few more guards, and run 4-5 per wheel for some added material
