I am considering a billet industries rip shifter for my XH 5 spd. I have heard mixed opinions about these, some people swear by them, others say they are not what they are made out to be. Has anbody fitted/used one before? For $500+ they are not cheap.

Do an ebay search
That is where most of the fellas on here get theirs Search international listings for "T5 short shifter" The ones that fit mustang t5s will suit our t5s here. They start at about $60AU delivered. Exactly the same unit pretty much, just cheap in the states. Cheers Sam

i wouldnt pay $500 for a billet brand shift.
but i have a billet alloy short throw shift with the positive stops just like the billet brand. i got mine from the usa for around $130 posted to aus. ive had for about 2 years now and is great.. there are a few other guys that also brought the same shifts from usa aswell.. considering the aus dollar is still pretty good now would be the time to shop from usa.. |

I too would not pay 500 for one so +2 for better priced ones fail on expensive ones.

Yep, From the reports of the guys on here that have the ones from the states, all of them are happy with the product. I probably wouldnt be happy spending $500 on a short shifter when i know there are the same ones for a fifth of the price available. They all have extra springs and stronger 3rd springs to help with 2-3 shifting. The have stops as well, to stop overshifting and damage to the box. Cheers Sam

I've got one from http://www.mgwltd.com. Absolutely awesome piece of gear.
Top of the market in the US and a ton cheaper than a "rip shift" here in Aus. This one to be exact... http://www.mgwltd.com/mustang_1990-2004.shtml |
