hey guys well ive got a set of slotted rotors for my eb falcon just replaced the passenger side no worries at all
doing the drivers side now and well the old rotor wont come off the stud. everything is undone and off brakes dust cap split pin out nut undone washer off but the b**ch wont slide off the other side came of easy. ive tryed knocking it to come off but still nuthing. ne ideas ppl would be great . might just grab my gimpy and smash the s**t out of it . dont care if the rotor is f**k as i have slotteds to go on . |

spray some crc around the stud as u put it
then u will need the gimpy to tap it off, careful u dont go to hard as u can damage ya stub axle

sounds like the bearing outer casing has froze it self to the stub axle.
i have never had that problem, i am not sure but if it don’t come off without a good fight your better off replacing the stub axle. as if you have to hit it with a hammer to get it off you could end up bending the stub axle.

small slide hammer on rotor, and work it around, as bunter says, sounds like you have a fried bearing case in there that has soft welded the rotor on, if you have axcess to a good heat source like a blow torch you me be able to heat the rotor to grow it off.
I would be using a mallet of the back face of the rotor to try and shift it initally though then work on from there.. Worst case is stub axle replacment.. cheers

well rang around the wreckers near me and no one has 1 so i resorted to using the gimmpy after a strong fight and blood. its off.
yeh the stub axle dose look like its had some heat in it and a few littl scuff marks on it going to gige it a light sand back with some fine sandpaper then some steel whool. thanks guys for ur fast replys |

Too late but I will reply anyway. If the front then remove your rear wheel brake rotor and put that on the front with the wheel nuts just on the studs, then use the rotor as a slide hammer.

nice idea.
will put that into the usefull part of my brain. neway shes all done and looks a treat dont know if theres a doco newhere on here or not might do one. not that hard of a job. also painted the rotor and calipers gloss black. just been doing the rears now. got stuck watching the criket... looked at the time and went s**t i should prob do them |

Ummm I have a problem with you not being able to get the rotor off seeing that the front wheel bearings are a tappered roller type.
The rotor should fall off just about when the main nut is removed, unless some silly t*** put the inner bearing in backwards. |

geee ur an idiot. ive never removed the bearrings this is the first time since ive had the car..
and the bearing was in the right way just that it was well worn and faild. |

and the bearing was in the right way just that it was well worn and faild. So how long have you had the car for? which bearing was stuck? I think we all know who the idiot is, for driving around in a car that bearings must of been that dry to end up fused to the stub axle. |
