righto, want to go get some superlows or something, not sure on height yet, but in the fairlane they have self levelling rear suspension yes??
does this get taken out when lowering the car or does it just get dissconnected? if it comes out, can it be sold? asin will it hook up to another fairlane?

You can disconnect it by just removing the circuit breaker in the fuse panel. You will need to replace the rear springs, shocks and fit bump stops also. If you remove the compressor and the height sensor it can be fitted to another Fairlane, along with the springs and shocks.

The best thing I did to the fairlane was get rid of the POS self-leveling suspension (Gr8 if your hauling lots of varied loads around) and it transformed the the way the car drove.
On my car I just disconnected the rear sensor plug which stopped the dash warning light from flashing (and beeping) at me, pulled the compressor out and just replaced the rear shocks and springs. My compressor had just about had it anyway so that got junked and there was no way I was gonna pull half the car apart to get the air hose out so that still lives where Ford gave birth to it. On the low or super-low side of things I got the lows (I'd love super-lows) but the big a** fairlane scrapes front and back on some driveways, etc. So it's a case of how practical or good looking you want the car to be.

no worries, i shall dissconnect the fuse for the SLS, but how will this affect the ride untill i get the new springs and shocks for it?
The only question i ask, is when u turn off the car, the a*** end falls a fair way down. so just wondering what the ride we be like in the mean time. cheers

the air will slowly escape from the shockers then it'll be sitting on compressed shockers and bascily on the thin a** springs in the rear..(if its similar to the older type)...handling will suck if u pull the fuse out..

dont pull the CB out for no reason!
Definantly get rid of teh SLS best handling move you will make, superlows were too low for me, i am at tickford height now, Lows were too high, superlows too low, and now im happy with the tickford height!
