hmmm, that is interesting.
I think you are onto the right thing there. By substituting any of the resistors for something stronger, you should be able to control the firmness of the shifts, in this case make them softer. BenJ

ive been experimenting with the shift kit and found a nice medium between making the shifts quicker and not sloppy and at the same time not making them harsh and feel like its going to kill the box and the diff.
18OHM Resistor and a 2.2OHM resistor works well. anyone looking to tone it down thats the combination.

I have to admit, this thread is still a great read, even tho i didn't get around to fitting my shift kit, the auto leaked too much so i swapped in a 5spd.
I do however, almost have the ED ready for the road, and it now has the auto in it, so i may end up fitting it after all. From the sounds of it, it will make the stocker that bit more fun to drive, and might not make my g/f whinge about having the drive the " auto " so much, rofl.

does this kit make the box change when u select a gear or does it still wait untill it wants to change after u select it?

Might have to play around with my setup some more. BenJ btw the 2.2OHM with the 18OHM is nice with an EL ecu... the eb-ed ecu its a bit more rough obviously the ef/el ecus have a programmed smoother shift.

the shift kit doesnt make the gearbox change at different times it just speeds up the change, so if your gearbox holds onto a gear once you shift up then it will still do that

Nope, all it does is make the shift firmer and faster.

well ive done it today and it has speeded up 2nd and 4th 3rd is still a bit slow have i done something wrong ?
i gave my mate the diagram and instructions since his a sparky and he wired it all up and took it for a drive and i notice second is a s**t load faster and then third is normal then fourth hits much quicker then it used to

i just had the box changed today got a xr8 recon put in
still dosent shift hard just second
